Visiting FSRU NUSANTARA REGAS SATU

On April, 23 th 2019 EQUINOX BAHARI UTAMA (EBU) representative, Director EBU Angga Luthfi Eldrianto, Crewing Manager Assistant Yossy and Yunita, Crewing Assitant Christina Yeniwati and one office apprentice, Ruth Aprillia, visited FSRU NUSANTARA REGAS SATU which located at Marina, Ancol. This visit was planned to check the condition of both the vessel and crews. Before the embarkation at 07.10 a.m., the representative of EBU had to register themselves at the ISPS office of PT Nusantara Regas by signing the log book and verifying the identity card with a visitor card as the requirement before visiting the vessel. To reach the vessel, our representative used a spead boat called Hutasuhut. One of the most important things that people must obey in visiting the FSRU Nusantara Regas Satu is to switch the phone off or set in airplane mode due to the sensitivity of Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) that can cause a fire. To move from the spead boat into the vessel, the visitor usually uses the ladder. However, in this this occassion, we had to use a basket due to the heavy waves. The basket is able to caccomodate 3 until 4 person while the goods of the visitor is placed in the center of the basket. Since the vessel is very high, the basket must go up high as high as the vessel that made the passengers worried, however it is safe.
After arriving safely onboard, we had to register for the second time and used proper PPE (boiler suit, safety shoes, and helmet). We were making a safety tour around the vessel from fore to aft, escorted by 3rd Officer. The vessel is consist of six tanks to produce the gas, however only three tanks are working at that time. The production proces causes the surface of the tank became frosty. The next agenda was a crew meeting. We were having a meeting with all crews on board to discuss about all crewing matters. The discussion aimed to hear the feedback direct from crew member and for all parties’ improvement. The conclusion of this visit is that the vessel is well maintained and the crews are having very professional safety that prioritized the safety for both vessel and crew. It was a very meaningful experience that enhance our knowledge about FSRU Nusantara Regas Satu.
