PT Equinox Bahari Utama (EBU) conducted public lecture and apprentice recruitment at @PIP Semarang. This is the 3rd time where EBU was being invited after the invitation in 2020. Since the pandemic situation has been improved well this year, the activity was held offline in the Auditorium of PIP Semarang on Wednesday, December 8th 2021 attended by around 300 fully vaccinated apprentices, combined from 1st, 3rd and 7th semester.
The session started by a warm welcome and fruitful discussion with Capt Dian Wahdiana, the Director of PIP Semarang, who briefly explained on the new electronic system to monitor the apprentice onboard. The system itself is still in the development process by the Authority and the training institute.
The subject of the lecture itself was focusing on the expectation of the Ship Owners towards the apprentice and future officers. The apprentices were very enthusiastic in following the online session and felt so grateful to be given a tips and tricks how to perform onboard as an apprentice next year. Appreciation given especially for the 1st semester apprentices, who had shown their enthusiasm and pro-activeness during the session, where it was fully conducted in English.
