Sharing session at Poltekpel Surabaya
PT Equinox Bahari Utama was being invited by Merchant Marine Polytechnic Surabaya, to deliver a public lecture for the 3rd semester apprentices on Friday, Dec 11th 2020. The topic which was being brought up is about the expectation of the international ship owners towards apprentices and future officers.
The lecture itself was more to a sharing session to motivate the apprentices who are going to have their apprenticeship in 2021 and understand the level of expectation set by the international ship owners on how the apprentices should perform once they are having their 12 months sea time onboard or during the land project for the Sea Transportation/Port and Shipping apprentices.
More than 200 apprentices were attending the session virtually from home as they were being instructed to study from home due to the present pandemic. It was a fruitful and interactive session as most of the apprentices were eager to know the expectation so they can be prepared. Tips and tricks were also being given on how to complete the Apprentice Training Record Book (TRB) in time during their tenure onboard.
